Tommi Musturi

Tommi Musturi (born in 1975) is a comic artist and editor for the award-winning anthology Glömp. His published work includes participations in numerous fanzines, on-going five book serie called ‘The Books of Hope, lots of small fanzines made out of his sketchbooks and latest a book Walking With Samuel.

Musturi comics are often almost silent and without action. He uses symbolism to discuss on existential themes: loneliness, individual on proportion to surroundings, freedom and overhelming nature. His work uses different techniques – every project has a different style that’s developed to support the message the best way.

Musturi has taken part in over 70 exhibitions and curated a dozen. He works in 13-people comic art studio Kutikuti in Helsinki and runs publishing houses Boing Being and Huuda Huuda. At the moment he’s working on more books on the Samuel series.
